A. Thomas Stavros, MD, FACR Chief Medical Advisor, Director of Ultrasound, Sally Jobe Breast Center, Denver, Colorado. Dr. Stavros is Chair of Medipattern’s Medical Advisory Board. He is recognized as a leading expert in the area of breast ultrasound, and is the creator of the de facto standard, The Stavros Criteria, for the diagnosis of solid breast nodules.

Wendie Berg, MD, PhD, FACR Principal Investigator and Chair, ACRIN 6666, Johns Hopkins at Green Spring Station. Dr. Berg is leading the investigation for the ACRIN 6666 trial, a multi-centre study to determine the utility of ultrasound as a screening tool for women with dense breasts at risk of breast cancer. Dr. Berg also sits on numerous related committees, among them ACR BI-RADS.

Marcela Bohm-Velez, MD, FACR Weinstein Imaging Associates, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Bohm-Velez has served as Chair of the ACR Appropriateness Criteria Expert Panel on Women’s Imaging; she is Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh; and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Radiology. She also sits on a number of key committees to advance breast imaging, and is one of the readers in the ACRIN 6666 trial.

Paula Gordon, MD, F.R.C.P.C. Clinical Professor, Department of Radiology, University of British Columbia. Dr. Gordon teaches breast-imaging techniques to audiences around the world and serves on many committees and organizations dedicated to advancing breast ultrasound imaging protocols and standardization. She is Head of the Academic Committee for the Screening Mammography Program for BC; Consultant with the BC Women’s Breast Health Program; and Screener with the Screening Mammography Program of Vancouver.

Ellen Mendelson, MD, FACR Professor of Radiology at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, and Chief of the Breast and Women’s Imaging Division of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Mendelson is Co-Principal Investigator of the ACRIN 6666 breast ultrasound screening investigation. She also chairs the ACR BI-RADS committee and serves on numerous national and international committees to advance breast-imaging standardization.

Giorgio Rizzatto, MD Chairman, Department of Diagnostic Imaging, General Hospital, Gorizia, and Professor of Radiology, Trieste University, Italy. A well-respected thought-leader in his field, Dr. Rizzatto lectures globally and has authored many papers on breast ultrasound imaging techniques. He is a member of the International Breast Ultrasound School (IBUS), and the European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI).

Christian Weismann, MD Assistant Medical Director, Department of Diagnostic Radiology, General Hospital, Salzburg, and a director for the Breast Ultrasound Screening Program for Austria. Dr. Weismann is a pioneer in the use of 4D breast ultrasound imaging. Lecturing extensively around the world and the author of numerous related papers, he is a Board Member of the Austrian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine; a committee member of the International Association for Breast Ultrasound; and is a member of both IBUS and EUSOBI.

Gary Whitman, MD Associate Professor of Radiology and Medical Director of the Mobile Mammography Program, Section of Breast Imaging, The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dr Whitman is the 2004 recipient of the Presidential Recognition Award and is a member of the AIUM Board of Governors, currently serving as Treasurer. He has written many papers related to breast imaging and lectures regularly on the subject.
