Jeff Collins
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Collins is co-founder of the Medipattern Corporation. In 1987, he founded CASTAR Corporation, a service provider for computer-controlled hydraulic systems. Through growth and acquisition, he expanded CASTAR, selling it in 1997 to US-based Paragon Technologies. Mr. Collins continued on at Paragon Technologies as a member of the management team until the death of his aunt from breast cancer. It was this event that prompted him to formulate the concept for and establish Medipattern.
John Hughes, CA
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Hughes recently joined Medipattern. Mr. Hughes served as director, co-chief executive officer, and CFO of Recapture Metals Limited, a producer, recycler and refiner of high value minor metals and compounds for application in the technology sector. Mr. Hughes has also served with SGS Canada Inc., Price Waterhouse Coopers (nee Coopers & Lybrand) Chartered Accountants, and Loewen, Ondaatje, McCutcheon Inc.
Frederic Lachmann, PhD
Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Lachmann has more than 24 years of experience in medical imaging. Previously, as Chief Technology Officer of Veracel (formerly Morphometrix), he led the development of a novel technique for cervical-cancer detection. His experience encompasses image segmentation; software-on-chip design; artificial intelligence (AI) and neural network-based systems for advanced feature-extraction techniques; and data-mining using knowledge discovery. He has also held various senior-executive positions in the medical-imaging industry, including Director of Software Engineering for the Silhouette business unit at Cedara (formerly ISG), a system provider to Siemens, Hitachi, Imatron and Shimadzu; and Director of Implementation for Interpra Technology, a designer of Web appliances for radiology information systems (RIS). Dr. Lachmann holds a PhD from the Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM), Unit No. 335, where his thesis examined the use of MRIs in identifying brain structures to facilitate epilepsy surgery.
Cindy Rapp, BS, RDMS, RDCS
Vice President of Clinical Program Development
Ms. Rapp has worked in sonography for 25 years. An active member of the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), she received Fellowship designations from both organizations in 2001. She is also extensively involved with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), where she chaired the task force for the Breast Ultrasound Registry. She previously held positions with ATL, the Sally Jobe Breast Center, and the University of Colorado Breast Center. She received the 2005 Distinguished Sonographer Award from AIUM, honouring her outstanding contributions to the development of diagnostic ultrasound, and she recently received the Joan P. Baker Pioneer Award for 2008.
Janet Sterritt
Vice President of Business Strategy and Marketing
Ms. Sterritt has more than 30 years’ experience in medical imaging, holding senior positions at E.I. DuPont, Xerox, and Howtek — now iCAD, where she most recently held the position of Executive Vice President, Women's Healthcare. Working with Howtek, she leveraged scanning technology used in publishing and printing and integrated it into medical and biomedical imaging products, significantly increasing Howtek’s market share and more than doubling the company’s annual revenue within the first year of its medical product launch. Her achievements were instrumental in transforming Howtek into iCAD, a leading developer of CAD for mammography. She rounds out these credentials with solid partnerships she has forged with GE Healthcare, Hologic, Siemens, FujiFilm, Kodak, and other picture archiving communication system (PACS) and digital-mammography providers.
